Gingerbread

With Nick and I both working opposite schedules I was amazed when we found a couple of hours where we would both be home to do gingerbread houses with the kids! they were SO excited! We helped them "glue" the house together and then let them decorate them any way they wanted with no input from us. We just assisted with the frosting/glue.

Preston's finished house. He was SO proud of his work and kept telling us that his house "is so beautiful, it's perfect!". He is such a funny kid....just look at that smile! Hee hee

Ashleigh's poor house had a hard time staying together--soon after she was done decorating it, the roof caved in. She was so unhappy about and nearly started crying! But, her friend Jasna came over and decided to push Ashleighs house back together--which we already tried to do. Amazingly, she was successful and Ashleigh's house was near perfect when Jasna was done with it. Ash was SO happy! I think both kids did a great job! :-)

You cheated! What ever happened to flimsy graham crackers!?! I miss doing those. With our crazy December here, I don't think we'll get around to gingerbread houses. Maybe for Valentines like we did when we were kids!

We didn't have a lot of time for me to figure out how to make the graham cracker houses....we'll do those for Valentine's day. They are SO much better than these dumb gingerbread kits.
