Meg's alone day

I have been in a funk lately...in a rut, and feeling like I need a change in my life. Nick and I decided that maybe what I need is an alone day once a week or so. My alone days won't be so "Big" as my first one was. I decided to go to Park City last Sunday. I had SO MUCH FUN!!!!! It was SO nice to go out all day by myself and just think, see the beautiful sights, shop a little bit and just reconnect with myself! After hearing my kids say "mommy" over and over and over every day I thought my head would explode. It's nice to know that I can go out alone and hear my own thoughts! I am sure you other mom's out there know exactly what I am talking about! Here are some pictures from my day...

On my way..

At the Olympic park

The entrance to Historic Main Street..where I spent most of the day

Planned on riding the trolley, but never got around to it

I thought these buildings were cute--thus the pictures.
There was a motorcycle convention...I probably saw 50-60 motorcycles!

In one of the shops--this is a little metal man that is a Wine holder. So cute!

This man was hilarious and so nice! He tried to sell me that necklace on his head for Nick...turquoise just isn't Nick's color.

There were a lot of musicians...I really enjoyed just sitting and listening to them!

Hmmm...I think I see a resemblance. Lol... I had to take a picture with one of the locals!

Every Sunday until the end of Sept is the Sunday Silly Market. Lots of vendors and food stands. Reminded me a lot of Saturday Market in Portland.

Amazing Teeter-Totter. Couldn't get a better picture! But it was REALLY cool to see!

I saw that people were riding on a ski-lift! It only cost $11 for a 45 min ride. What a better way to be alone!

On the ride....it was REALLY scary at first! I didn't realize that I had a bar-belt that would hold me in the seat securely! Once I figured that out, I was comfortable and happy and really really enjoyed the ride!

I was REALLY high up....this picture-- I am about 100 ft above the ground and that's my feet dangling. scary! :-)

See how high I am....on the trail, on the left of the picture are two people on bikes!!!

The slops... they don't look as scary with out snow on them!

The view from the top of the lift coming down

Typical Utah---PC on the mountain = Park City

I LOVE this town!!! I want to move there so much!!!

Coming in for a landing...
The rest of the time was spend touring the town in my car, seeing the sights, etc. I was gone a total of about 6 1/2 hours. It was a really really great day and I had SOooooo much fun!!! It was exactly what I needed to feel energized and happy again!

Thank you honey!!!

Buckle fracture

On August 3, Preston hurt his leg on the trampoline at my sisters house. At the time it seemed like it was sprained or hyper extended, but not broken. However, on my way home, I just felt like I needed to get it checked anyway. I took him to the InstaCare (urgency care). They took a couple x-rays of his leg, said it's fine, just sore, and sent us on our way. I was a little discouraged, but decided to just keep any eye on him...

He didn't walk on it at all for 2 days. Then he figured out that it didn't hurt if he crawled around on his hands and feet (not knees). He got around that way for the next 5 days. Juli and Randy watched Ashleigh and Preston and after expressed their concern for Preston. Sometimes I just need a little push to be proactive, and Juli's concerns came at the right time and gave me that push I needed to take Preston in for a 2nd opinion.

Yesterday-Aug 10, I was able to get an appointment with a pediatric Dr. He decided it would be best to send us over to the hospital to get more x-rays done. The lady who held preston in place for the x-ray was amazing!!! She was so kind and personable and Preston just loved her! They decided they needed an x-ray of his Right leg too to compare. 3 Radiologists took a look at it and determined that Preston has a buckle fracture. So, we went back to the dr's office to get a cast on his leg. The nice thing, is they use a different material for kids' casts so that he CAN get it wet! Yay! Preston doesn't quite understand why he can't take it off at night to sleep, but he has figured out that he can walk with it on, AND his leg doesn't hurt anymore! Woo Hoo. He has to wear the cast for 3 weeks.

Some pics I took.... This is a circumcision table. Poor poor babies!!! It's just totally barbaric! In My Opionion

Preston

I needed a new pic for the wallpaper on my phone....

Getting his x-rays done.

The plastic material for under the cast. And his "racing stripes"

Putting on the cast

He didn't want his picture taken...waiting for it to harden up

Preston...and fun with dice

Nicks family came over the other night to visit with Arah while she was in town for a few days. Preston was playing with some dice and Randy thought it would be funny to get them to stick in his ears. (It was funny!)

Zucchini overload!

While Arah and her girls were here she told me that my zucchini was ready to be picked. I had just checked on them about a week before and they were tiny! So I wasn't expecting much, but I was SHOCKED to see how BIG they were!

Here is Preston holding the biggest one! Woah!
All 3 monster Zucchini! Amazing.

Monday play time

On Monday--before Emily flew back to Washington, we got all the kids together for one more play day. We went to Tamsens so the kids could swim, jump on the trampoline and play on the slip-n-slide.

Preston got hurt on the trampoline....sigh. Poor kid couldn't walk on his left leg for 5 days...as of today, he can stand on it, but still can't walk on it. It's not broken though--thank goodness!
