Dinner at Toni's & Willow Park

Friday night began the Kunz/Castleton reunion. My mama-Call did the majority of the work to get this put together. She did an absolutely amazing job and I know everyone had SO much fun!!! It was a GREAT weekend full of food, family, friends, fun, and games. :-)

We started off going to Nick's Aunt Toni's house for dinner--family came from Tennessee and Spokane, and other parts of Utah to join us!

Preston knocking at Toni's door

Preston meeting his "cousin" Keely...he wasn't sure of her at this point, but he warmed up pretty quickly.

Ashleigh, of course, loved to play with all the little kids and attached to Keely right away!

Some of the gals--Aunt Ami, J, Aunt Lori, and Natalie

Cousin lindsay-her daughter Keely, her husband Cody and in the background is her sister J.

Uncle Dan, Nick, Corey, Brinley, Uncle Matt, and Christopher

The food was all set up outside--hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, pasta salad, sweet-spinach salad, chips, cookies, etc....YUMMY food!!!

1/2 of the group eating picnic-style on the lawn. It was a little too warm for my liking, but otherwise it was a lot of fun just chatting and getting reacquainted again.

What is it about kids always getting food on their faces when they eat?!?!

The next day (Saturday) we went to Willow Park. It is a great park where you can reserve areas for parties. We had SO much fun (complete with NO allergies for me!!! YAY!)

The kids riding to the park--Ash and Preston

Brinley and Ashleigh

After 3 days of driving, Betsie and Josh and the kids arrived late the night before so this was the first time getting to see their family! Thankfully, the girls liked me right away. :-)

Jennidee and Meg (I think this is jennidee) Lol.

I took a bunch of random pictures of the groups at the park. :-)

Preston after he got his bottle rocket.
This was seriously SO much fun for the kids!!!

Aunt Toni

Emma and Nick

We all got to decorate shirts and this is Juli's--it was a good example of what we could do to our shirts! It was FUN decorating our shirts. The funny thing was, it was SO windy the whole day so when we would go and spray our shirts with the coloring if you weren't up wind, you would get colored on...plus it was funny watching people try to keep their shirts from moving while they sprayed them with the wind trying to blow them around. It was quite entertaining!

I stole this cute cute picture of the Kunz sisters
Lori, Ami, Juli, and Toni

Another random group of people--doing bottle rockets. SO much fun!

We did goldfish races too--Nick won a fish. :-)

Conner and Preston raced each other.
Conner won the first race and Preston won the second race.
Then we had a Wahoo tournament and the winner-cousin David-won a gag gift--huge decorative lighted glass grapes. Lol. Which he turned down. :-) Can you tell we love to play Wahoo?

David-the winner-is in Blue

Nick's cousin Jessie also put together a bunch of Minute to Win it games for us to play. I didn't get over there to take pictures of it, but it sure was funny watching people bounce up and down with a kleenex box full of ping-pong balls on their butt! :-)

And then, sadly, it was time to go....we had SO much fun!!!!!! It really was a FUN FUN reunion!!!

I took a couple videos of the bottle rockets and fish races. Enjoy!

Fireworks

After Willow Park, we went home to regroup and some of us had a little nap. I fed Ashleigh and Brinley and helped them play Wahoo for a bit.
Then we decided to go to Thanksgiving point to see the fireworks instead of driving all the way to Sandy like was originally planned. We arrived a little after 8pm and found a good spot to set up our blankets. We had to try to find the rest of the family who had followed us, but decided to go a different direction and we lost them. Finally they arrived....

Betsie, Jadon, and Josiah

Meg and Emma

Ashleigh and Brinley
These two were inseparable the whole weekend. It was awesome!!!
(Brinley is actually Nick's cousin, but since Ash and Brin are so close in age, it's just easier to call them cousins instead. :-)

Betsie and Mom Call

My handsome hubby!!!

After the rest of the family arrived, they realized that there were parking spots MUCH closer to where we were sitting than they had parked, so Nick drove them to their cars, but he didn't want to give up his parking spot, so Juli sat herself right in his parking spot so no one else would take it. It was hilarious and awesome!!!

Our parking spot was like 30 feet from where we were sitting. Perfect! :-)

I got a bit of the sunset...so pretty!

And some people sitting near us set off some fireworks while we waited for the big ones--the security guy came and made them stop. It was pretty while it lasted.
The fireworks finally started at 10pm and by 1015 they were done! It was really a bummer. A few would go off and then there would be a 30 second or more break until the next ones--then a longer break before the finale. The finale was cool, but couldn't have lasted longer than a minute or two....I was royally disappointed in them! Definitely not like past years....we could tell there was a budget cut! Annoying. We figured afterwards that there would be a traffic jam-which there was--it took us about 15 min to get out of our spot and drive less than 1/2 a block--the policeman who was supposed to be directing traffic wasn't...he was just standing there....rude! We all made it home safely and had a good night sleep. :-) It was a long but FUN day!!!

Sunday dinner

On Sunday we went to the Call's for dinner. Betsie made us all homemade Cafe Rio. YUM!!!! Nick's Aunt Ami, uncle Dan, and cousin Jessie joined us too! It was great catching up with them and playing some fun games. We played Wahoo, of course!!! :-)

Jennidee wasn't feeling quite herself and attached herself to Nick
(This morning she woke up with a 105.2 temp so Betsie took her to the hospital. She has the beginning stages of pneumonia-after a big shot in her leg and some Rx's, she's starting to feel better. Poor little girl!)

While we played Wahoo, the men bonded. lol. :-)

Don't eat a BLT, eat a BEAT instead! :-)

One of my fellow bloggers posted THIS recipe. It's called a BEAT. A Bacon, Egg, Avacado, & Tomato Salad. I was really hesitant to try it cause I have never liked Avacados, but wow...I LOVE it!!! I use Turkey Bacon instead of regular bacon to cut back the calories and fat, but otherwise, I keep the recipe the same. It looks like poo, but tastes SO good!!! If you like these ingredients on their own, you definitely should try it all together!
