No, we didn't get a mouse as a pet...
We saw a mouse run to our basement last week and after seeing some droppings, we decided to get an exterminator out here--Immediately!!!
The exterminator came out, sprayed for spiders, gave us some tips on keeping those nasty spiders out and also put traps all over for the mice.
I fully expected that we would have to wait a month (when the exterminator came back) to see if we caught any mice, but low and behold, a few days later I came down stairs in the morning and found this in our family room...
We caught a mouse on one of our sticky traps we had under our couch. From the looks of it the mouse got a little stuck, then flailed about for a while trying to get unstuck and got even more stuck. He was mostly dead when I found him. We decided, after talking to the exterminator, to just dispose of it ourselves. We'll keep the details of how we disposed of him a secret to not upset anyone out there reading this. But he died quickly and peacefully....or so it appeared. We are REALLY hoping that this is the only mouse friend we have in our house...we'll see next month when the exterminator checks all the traps.
And, I am very happy to report that we have only seen 1 spider in a week! Yay!

One mouse usually indicates a "family of mice" somewhere else. Good luck. YUKKY.
