BAD Preston!!!

I was upstairs for like 10 min-just long enough to finish straightening my hair. Ashleigh was with me. Ash went down first and yells up to me-"Preston is being really bad mommy-you need to come down!" I came down to find this mess....

Preston had poured out about a third of the dish washing detergent! GRRRRRR!!!!!!!

CT Scan results

My head is fine---the scan came back normal and with no masses or internal bleeding. So, it's back to the drawing board to find out why I am having headaches.

After talking to quite a few different family members, I have decided it's probably from my use of caffeine on the weekends to stay awake at work and lack of caffeine during the week...and from a slight lack of sleep...and possibly a lack of enough water. So, I am going to try to get more sleep on the weekends and try to lessen my caffeine intake and we'll see how it goes.... I've also decided that the change in elevation is a component as well-my headaches began pretty regularly just shortly after we moved to Utah, so I think that definitely has something to do with it all.

Anyway, that's my diagnosis---sure beats getting a whole bunch of drugs from my dr. Which I'll tell him when I see him next. Thanks for all your prayers on my behalf!!! :)

Basketball...

I know, I know, it was Sunday yesterday, but when you get something "new" you just have to try it out, right? ;-)

We brought home the Call's basketball hoop last night and set it up so that we can start playing together--Preston is overly obsessed with watching or playing basketball--and he's not even 2 yet-so after we set it up, we decided to play for a bit.

Ashleigh didn't want any help from Nick or I and basically kept one of the balls to herself and mainly just practiced dribbling, but would occasionally take a shot at the hoop-the ball would either go strait up, or go forward not getting anywhere near the hoop, but we encouraged all her effort and I know she had so much fun!

Preston-when he had the ball would kind of bob up and down a little and then make a move like he was going to shoot it, but instead would stop-and back up in to Nick's legs and say-"ready"-and Nick would lift him up so he could shoot the ball. Which he did-very well! He would repeat this over and over each time he got the ball. It was hilarious! Preston was VERY upset when it was time to come inside--I think basketball will definitely be the FHE of choice for a while! hmmm...how can we incorporate a church lesson in to it?

I was able to get a few pictures of our playing....

My mother's day....

Most of you know that I work overnight on the weekends so I work at 10:15p and usually am home by 8am the next morning. During the night (Sat/Sun) Nick sent me a text telling me to turn on my van when I came home in the morning-and just sit and listen. When I got home I found that he had made me a CD of songs that remind him of me, or one's that have special memories for us--like the song-one boy, one girl-which was the first song we danced to at EFY! It's been "our song" ever since. Anyway, I sat in the van and bawled my eyes out for about 20 min listening to as many songs as I could before going in to get ready for church (we were late because of it, but that's ok!!!) It totally touched my heart to hear the lyrics to each song and to know that he believes that those specific one's related in some way to who I am-and how I treat him! I felt VERY loved!!!

We all went to church together but after church I found out that Preston's diaper leaked so Nick didn't wait to walk home with me-he went ahead with the both kids. (We only live 9 houses away from our church so we usually walk--so much fun!!!) I got home to a VERY excited Ashleigh who helped Nick tell me that we were going to play hot/cold to find my mother's day present. After some time, I found it--a 2lb box of see's candy and a couple of cards!

Ok, I just have to note here---one of the things I LOVE about Nick is that anytime he gives me a card---for my birthday, mother's day, anniversary, whatever-he ALWAYS writes a little note "from Christian" for me-so our first born is NEVER forgotten and helps me feel like he is still a part of all these special events. I love that so much!!!! (Thank you, honey!)

Anyway---Preston and Ashleigh are just as obsessed with Chocolate as I am-heaven help them-so they were more than willing to help me dig in to my chocolate! I think they have each had twice as many pieces as I have had! That's ok though, It's fun to share with them.

I was having such a great day with my family that I didn't want to ruin it with sleep-so I only closed my eyes for an hour and then we went to dinner at the Call's. By the time I crawled in to bed last night it was close to midnight and I realized that except for my small nap, I had been awake for 32 hours! pfew! I am really tired today, but after such a great day-it was all worth it!

Plus-I finally used my birthday present gift certificate and went and got a massage today! ahhhhhhh....that was SO long over due!!!!!! (Thank you, honey---again!)

What a great mother's day!!!

Left me hanging...

My CT scan went fine-I was in and out of the appointment in 30 minutes. And with nothing new to report. Since it was Friday, the radiologist had already gone home so he/she is looking at my film today and will get back to my Dr. Tuesday or Wednesday with my results. So, like you, I have been left hanging....Once I know something I'll let you all know!

Prayers please...

Just so you are informed, I have been having headaches about 2-3 times a week for the past year and pretty much daily for the past month or so. I've finally gone to see the dr about it and I have a CT scan scheduled for Friday (May 9th). I am not totally worried, but of course I am a little nervous! If you can spare some time when you are on your knee's praying, I'd love it if you can include me in them so that everything will go as Heavenly Father has planned.... Thanks!!

I'm back....

I've had a rough couple of weeks with out my camera and just haven't had anything creative to add to my blog. Our camera, as it turned out, takes pictures, but they show up really blurry-like you're shaking the camera when you take them, so we broke down and bought ourselves a new one. It's just like our old one, but 1/2 the cost and it's black-not silver. Our silver one was a 5.0 megapixels and our new one is 7.1. More than enough pixels if you ask me. There are some definite differences to this new camera, but I like it a lot so I have been using it a lot! Here are some random pictures...... ENJOY!

Our new camera.... :-)

Preston in a grumpy mood---he knows how to say "no" really well now and says it constantly, but drags it out like "nooo" and he says it really sweetly.

Can you see Ashleigh in the drivers seat? We have about 3 blocks that we let her get on our laps on drive home. Nick was nice enough to let her drive today. I have VERY fond memories of driving on my dad's lap...I hope this is something she always remembers!

Later that day we had a car washing and cleaning out activity...we bought Ash that little window washing thing like you see at the gas stations so she helped daddy dry his car with it!

I had to take Ash to the dr's yesterday for her Kindergarten physical and check up. Preston LOVES these toys-I tell ya, whoever invented it is a gosh darn genius!

Ash--patiently waiting for the doctor...they take FOREVER!!! A 15 min appt usually takes more than an hour! I hate it, but I like her dr so it's ok...

Besides, I can always pass the time by taking pictures of my cute kids!!! (Preston insists on saying "cheese" and making that face whenever he sees me with the camera!)

Ash jamming to some music on the ride home. ha ha--she's so funny!

"What the heck is my sister doing?!?"

We went on a family walk the other night and we noticed these hundreds of holes in the wall of one of the mini mountains/hills by our house...I think birds live in there, Nick thinks it's bugs/animals...who knows-Any ideas? It was amazing to see, whatever it is!

Preston climbing off my bed---what's with that face!? Must have caught him at a bad angle...oh-well....

Preston is the epitome of a true boy, but occasionally he makes me question him when he tries on and walks around in Ashleigh's shoes....thankfully today it was just her snow boots, but it's usually her "heel-shoes" (church shoes). He's such a strange kid!

We bought the kids this little plastic golf set---Preston is obsessed with it and tries to take it with him whenever we are outside-so cute!

Ash riding her scooter

Preston...won't let go of the balls from the golf set, unless I asked for them, then he would chuck them at my face! grrr......

I love this picture....

And this is my house....I realized I didn't have a current picture of it since we moved in, so here it is. Can you see the storm clouds behind? About 20 min after this pic was taken the rain started and we had lightning and thunder for about 2 hours! I totally loved it!!!
